Photography checklist (suggested)
Use this list to determine what you do need to pack and what not - depending on how you intend to take photographs and from what subjects.
Camera
- Camera (body)
- Spare camera (can also be a small one)
- (Spare) batteries for camera; battery charger and cables
- Dust blower to clean the camera inside
- Brush to wipe off sand from your equipement
- Soft cleaning cloth for lenses
Lenses
- Telelens (~300 mm) and/or tele-zoomlens (ranging from 28-70 until 300 mm for example)
- Standard (zoom) lens, for example 28-70mm
- Wide angle (zoom) lens, for example 16-35mm
- Macro/close-up lens
- UV filter for each lens
- Skylight filter for the lens you use to photograph landscapes, snow
- Protective cover for each lens (or photo bag/rugsack)
- Lens cap
- Consider: spare lens cap
Storage
- Rolls of film
- Memory cards
- Portable image storage device/hard disk + charger + cables
- Flash + batteries (+ charger for rechargeable batteries)
- Notebook for storing and editing photographs + charger + cables
- Cable to connect camera with notebook (often USB)
- Empty CD's or DVD's to burn images onto
Miscellaneous
- Small tripod or monopod
- Connecting plate/quick-release plate (for tripod/monopod) and one spare one
- Photo rugsack
- Rain cover attached to photo rugsack
- Strap for camera and telelens
- Manuals(s)
- Copy of proofs of purchases
- Serial numbers of every piece of equipment (store seperately)
- Binolulairs
- CD containing all important software (drivers, camera software) in case you need to reinstall parts of it.
