The pictures that were taken on the sailing trip to the Antarctic Peninsula and the sub-antarctic islands proved excellent material for the production of two new sets of bird postcards, both are shown here. New CD release Piter Wilkens: Brutsen Snaren
Frisian singer-guitarist Piter Wilkens released his latest CD last week, titled Brutsen Snaren ('broken strings'). The CD contains accoustic songs, some of which were recorded at the concert at Theater Romein (Leeuwarden, 12 February 2005). The photographs that I took for Piter and for LEXsample have been used for the CD's artwork and cover. |

Last Saturday night 16 juli An Pierlé and her band played a fantastic concert at the open air theatre at the Rivierenhof (Deurne/Antwerpen, Belgium). 18 concert photographs have been newly added to LEXsample. |
| The new dutch bird book "Vogels van Schiermonnikoog" is a hefty publication which contains a few Spoonbill photographs that were taken by LEXsample on the island last year, and were previously published here on-line on the page The Spoonbills of Schiermonnikoog. The familiar Spoonbill photograph which is also available as a postcard features as an insert on the book's front cover. "Vogels van Schiermonnikoog" was written by a team operating under the name of Stuurgroep Avifauna Schiermonnikoog (SAS) and features 341 bird species that have been spotted on the island in the period 1971-2003. |  |

At the family hotel "van der Werf" the island's mayor, mr Swart, received the first copy of the new publication.
This presentation coincided with the 100 year's anniversary of the Dutch nature conservation organisation Natuurmonumenten and with the transfer of the nature's management of Schiermonnikoog to the organisation.
Not only the mayor, but every household on the island will be offered a copy of the book!
Contributors to the publication were also offered a copy, and LEXsample wishes to thank the SAS team and the publisher Uniepers for this gesture. For those who are interested, here are the book's details:
